Blink // The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe

“OMG and then they got married and had babies it’s so romantic!”

No.

It’s fucking creepy.

Why, you ask?

 • Both men were strangers.
 • Both women were alone.
 • Both women were alone in places where nobody else was around (Madge was walking in the woods, for goodness sake).
 • Both women expressed their discomfort and yet both men kept on following them.
 • Reg practically forced Madge to marry him — you can say it was just a joke, but still. No.

And no, it’s NEVER okay for men to just follow women around like that even if they know each other. I was surprised Kathy and Madge didn’t run screaming or kick them in the balls or something.

I wasn’t, because Steven Moffat literally thinks this is cute and sweet and something that should be reinforced, that women should acquiesce to men who are “polite” and men deserve to be “rewarded” for persistence.

PRINTABLE DOCTOR WHO VALENTINES ARE LIVE!
I will be making my Doctor Who Valentines available as a “Donate What You Want” digital download that you can print at home. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to have them physically printed and shipped in time for Valentine’s Day but I hope this will satisfy those of you who have inquired about whether or not I was selling cards again this year. I’m in the middle of setting everything up and putting together the printable files, but I’m aiming to have everything ready to go this week! If you’d like to be on my mailing list to be notified of when these will go live, you’re more than welcome to email me or shoot me a message in my ask box.

“I really like how Moffat wrote Ten, Mickey, and Rose as prototypes of Eleven, Rory, and Amy in The Girl in the Fireplace. Only a really good writer could write the same story with two different sets of characters.”

Thoughts on The Angels Take Manhattan

thebadcgijoshening:

This weekend, the final episode of Doctor Who until Christmas, whereupon a new companion will be introduced, aired. And I’ve got some thoughts about what I watched.

But if you’d like an indication of where I stand with this episode, I consider it very troublesome when characters start echoing my own sentiments about the writing and when the detective featured in the cold opening greets the above sight with “you’ve gotta be kidding me” I knew we were Officially In Trouble™

Raye made Maddy this fabulous TARDIS costume/snuggie. Look at her drift in space. So photogenic. This possibly belongs on dog shaming (but she loves it.)
